De Alfen laadpalen zijn uitgerust met groot aantal configuratiemogelijkheden, die zowel lokaal via de ACE Service Installer als via de backoffice kunnen worden geconfigureerd. Met de Alfen Smart Charging Network configuratie is het mogelijk om je laadpalen met elkaar te verbinden, zodat ze kunnen functioneren als één groot (virtueel) laadnetwerk en voor een optimale laadstroom te zorgen. Op deze manier werkt het als een sociaal laadnetwerk, en wordt de laadsnelheid tussen de stations onderling afgestemd. Hoewel de laadpalen via het Smart Charging Network functioneren als een groep, blijven de laadpalen ook individueel nog steeds benaderbaar en bestuurbaar.
